Clone Medium 370 Megamaloofa Race
In honor of Bruce Lile we have decided to take it back to the way it was started. That means this year’s format for the clone medium mega race will be different. Here’s how it looks.
The A Main Feature race will be a total of 50 laps that will be split into 2 halves. We will run the first 25 laps without removing lap cars. At the end of the first 25 laps the caution flag will come out and we will stop all karts under a red flag. Teams (driver and ONE pit crew member) will have 10 minutes to make adjustments, change tires, wipe tires, etc. Crew member must have everything needed with them upon entering the race track (no passing of parts/supplies through/over the fence will be allowed). Once time expires, all work must cease, and your crew member will be directed to leave the racing surface.
All karts that remain in the race will start the second half on the lead lap (anyone a lap down in the first half will be gifted a lap).
We will restart the second half with a single-file restart. During those last 25 laps we will be removing karts as they are getting lapped.
It’s been 10 years or so since we’ve seen this format in action, and we’re sure Bruce will have a smile looking down on the action.
