!!!!🚨🚨For Immediate Release🚨🚨!!!!

🏁4-24-26🏁

First, we would like to thank every fan, racer, and crew member for showing up and showing out.

It was not a promising start to the day when we made the early call to cancel the race. After serious work and consideration, we decided to reverse that decision. Unorthodox? Very. But we felt we owed it to everyone to give our best effort. Our team at Callaway Raceway worked extremely hard to make it happen.

And happen it did.

We were a little short on car count given the circumstances, but we still had 49 cars check in.

We started the night with our Pure Stock class. A low car count doesn’t always dictate the quality of racing! Harold Fox and Trenton Houston battled throughout the feature, with Drew Roark close behind and within striking distance. Harold Fox came out on top, with Trenton Houston finishing second and Drew Roark rounding out the podium in third.

Our Elite Performance Midwest Modified class was also a hot one. This race could have seen several different winners, but as always, only one driver can come out on top. Dayton Newell and Josh Newman had a heated battle for the lead, while Dakota Girard, Carter Brooks, and Mason Hudson battled for third. When the dust settled, Dayton Newell stood in victory lane, with Josh Newman and Dakota Girard rounding out the podium.

Our Progressive Auto Repair Super Stocks saw a smaller car count, but still featured some heavy hitters. The race started strong with Teddy Welschmeyer and Darin Porter. Teddy built a solid lead and came out on top. Darin Porter finished second, with Jared Lamke rounding out the podium.

Next up was our TC Property A Modifieds. Another smaller field, but no shortage of talent. Ryan Middaugh saw the green flag and never looked back, dominating the field. Preston Dawson had a great run in second, while Chris Spalding and Jon Melloway battled hard for third. Chris prevailed, securing the final podium spot.

Our Chuck’s Auto Salvage Hornets saw intense action. From the drop of the green, Alvin Cooney showed strong speed and led the charge. Josh “Popeye” Clark stayed with him throughout the race until a motor failure ended his night. When the dust settled, Alvin Cooney took the win, followed by his dad, Tom Cooney, in second, and Michael Metzermacher with an impressive third-place finish.

Our final race of the night was the Wilson’s Speed Shop B Modifieds, our largest field with 12 cars. There was action all over the track. Kyler Girard and Tyler Potter traded haymakers for the lead, but contact ultimately ended Tyler’s night. Behind them, Joshua Ready and Dawson David had an intense battle for second. Kyler Girard ended up in victory lane, while Joshua Ready gave it everything he had coming to the final corner, finishing second. Dawson David was right there in third to round out the podium.

From everyone at Callaway Raceway, we want to thank each and every one of you who showed up and supported the track last night. It truly means a lot to us.

We’d also like to ask everyone to keep Tony Kysar in your prayers. He took a hard tumble in the Hornet class and was transported to the hospital. He is awake and alert. Out of respect for the family, we will leave any questions to the family to answer when they’re comfortable.

Stay tuned for what’s next! We’ll post next weeks line up shortly and we will look forward to another great week of racing!
