Hope everyone had a great Christmas! 🎄
As much as I’d love to be posting more #LP75 updates, I just don’t have anything new to show unfortunately. We’re still awaiting graphics and the power plant and with the holidays and both vendor’s workload, all we can do is patiently (or in my case impatiently) wait until our slot opens.
I did however score a really cool July 1997 edition of Stock Car Racing Magazine off of eBay with a great spread about the 5-Time NASCAR National Champion (who is unfathomably still not in the NASCAR HoF).
Thought you might enjoy a good read about LP while you await more project updates. 🏁

At the National Karting Alliance, we live by three very simple goals. We strive to preserve, protect, and grow the sport of karting.
At our core, we are racers, and we just want what’s best for the competitors, track owners, and anyone operating inside this industry that we’ve dedicated our lives to for the past 40 years.
With this in mind, NKA and AKRA have made the decision to align our speedway regulations beginning in 2025.
We have worked closely with Van and the AKRA team over the past month to ensure we’re heading in the right direction, and our organizations have decided that charging forward on the same path when it comes to the technical side of speedway karting is in the best interest of the sport as a whole.
We feel that long term this will ultimately save racers money, help tracks and series gain racers who travel across the two organizations, and hopefully help ensure a healthy future for the speedway karting community.
The AKRA will be aligning themselves with our current cam rule and approval of the Tillotson clone components, and we will be allowing the approved billet rod and aligning with the current AKRA head porting specs.
There are two important notes to remember about this update.
First, the new billet rod is not a required update. The stock rod is still considered legal, and the billet rod is in no way a performance advantage.
Second, it is important to remember that, as a sanctioning body, we only require that tracks and series adhere to all of our safety standards found in the NKA Sporting Regulations. If your local track or series feels these changes are not in the best interest of your program, you are welcome to continue with our 2024 regulations as your standard ruleset.
In general, it is a positive step for organizations like ours to be working hand in hand with other sanctioning groups to provide the best future for our sport. If you have any questions, please contact us directly at info@nkaonline.com and one of our team members will get back to you right away.
In the interim, please refer to the AKRA website at akraracing.com for all of the information regarding head porting and approved rods for the upcoming season, as these will directly align with the specs which will be included in the 2025 NKA Sporting Regulations set to release mid January.
