We struggle bussed through the heat races tonight. The handling seemed to be off on the kart and Sawyer spun on his own once and then was involved in a wreck and sent to the tail.

He went back out for his first feature and was on a rail. He was able to pass all the way up 2nd and finished .02 off the leader at the line. Another lap, things might of been interesting!

The second feature he was caught behind 2 karts and there was just no line available to pass. It seemed like everytime he had a run, the kart in front of him shut the door.

And for the final race, he started on the pole of the dash for cash. For this race only, every kart must run 25lbs of air in the right rear tire, and the leader must run the top line. They paint a line on the track as a guideline. Sawyer took the lead early and navigated the high side really well, but after a few laps and some passing from 2nd on back, he had 2 karts on his tail. These kids did an incredible job keeping control of their karts. There was a different leader almost every lap for the last 5 laps or so and things got pretty exciting. Show-Me Dirt probably got a lot of highlight reel footage from this race!

Sawyer brought home $75 for his dash for cash win, but he gave $10 to crew chief dad because he “only needs $60” for the RC car he wants. 😁
