Former Show-Me 100 champ Payton Looney out of Republic Mo wires the field for all 40 laps in last night‘s Goblin 40 at E3 Speedway
26 Icon Graphics and Apparel 417 OKA karts were on hand for round 8 last night. With unfavorable weather conditions about all day long, track and series officials went back and forth on whether to continue on or postpone and reschedule the event. But John Eagleburger and his staff with help from lots of guys jumping in got the track in favorable condition to pursue and go on with the event and boy did it produce some good fast racing.
Payton Looney kicked off the night and completed the Hat Trick as he was victorious in the 6 Lap Ron Ron Motorsports Flying 50 Dash, lead all 10 laps, and won a heat race, then went on to lead all 40 laps and win the A- Main.

With Lake Mooneyham on the Show-Me Dirt pole for the second consecutive night, and with original front row starter James Smith having mechanical issues in staging lane, that moved Payton Looney to the front row outside spot. Mooneyham brings them to Green, but it’s PLoon15 leading lap 1 and never looking back. The Race goes green for 20 laps until that gets halted by Mike Cawvey caution stopped in turn 1. That bunches, the field up at the halfway point and kind of slows momentum for the next several laps as cautions breed cautions. P Looney, L Mooneyham, Luke Sanders, Evans, Aaron Mooneyham round out the top 5. Disaster strikes 2nd place running Lake Mooneyham under yellow, as he has issues, forcing him to DNF. Mooneyham out of the picture now that moves Colt Pruente up to 5th on the restart. Flagman Brad Looney has to call off the next 2 restarts to get the field, settled back down. The race goes back green only for 2 laps when a caution on lap 22 comes out for point leader Casey Mooneyham. Top five stays the same just in different order, PLoon15, Evans, CP20, Sanders, A Mooneyham. Caution slows the field down on the restart for 50 Kaeden Cornell. Still stuck on lap 22, caution out again has Casey Mooneyham stopped in turns 2 with left front suspension damage. Still struggling to get green flag runs in, caution waves on lap 23 again for Cornell as he goes Pit side for repairs. While under yellow Aaron Mooneyham, goes to the hot pit for repairs as well. This sets up the next long green flag run. With Looney in tow , Evans, Pruente, Sanders and now hard charging Wade Hobbs in the top 5. Over the next 17 laps Looney stays in command, but it’s not over yet as best friend and neighbor, Pruente reels in Looney and gets to his door at the Flagstand on lap 37. But PLoon15 fends off his teammate to capture his first 417 OKA feature win of the season. 2nd Colt Pruente, 3rd Luke Sanders, 4th Zach Evans and @Missouri Metal Buildings Hard Charger Race Looney rounds out the Top5.

You will get it all worked out Anthony Ferrara Jr and as always thank you for allowing Show-Me Dirt Ride along each and every race.
Another weekend down. Thankful for another opportunity to do what I love and dreamed about since I was young. Still learning a ton and so many small details separate people in this class. The attention to detail is a huge separator. Whether it’s money, knowledge, talent or hunger you can’t sit back…
