Day 1 of the Winter Classic is in the books! It was definitely filled with ups and downs!
In the r-box pro class, Brax had a super loose kart in qualifying and spun out which resulted in him starting 6th and finishing 6th.
In the r-box class, Brax qualified 2nd out of 7 karts. He ran a great race and held on to a third place finish which is his best finish to date at Emma!
Today is day 2. He’ll race the r-box qualifying and main plus the 30 lap MEGA race which pays $500 to win! Wish him luck!

Carson and I often watch videos a day or two after to see what we did right, wrong, or what we can improve on. We can also learn from other drivers in his race.
We have watched this clip multiple times. It might not seem like much, but there are three drivers that executed really well in these two laps.
1st the lap car took the lap flag and moved up to let Carson and Luke through. Some times lap cars can turn things in to a mess very quickly!
2nd Carson got loose and pushed up out of turn 4. Luke was able to get under him entering turn 1. Carson lost that turn and didnβt chop Luke down and risk either one of them going to the tail.
3rd Luke went high coming out of turn 2 and didnβt chop Carson down possibly risking one of them or both going to the tail.
This clip might not look like much, but these are 9 and 10yrs olds. ( they will make mistakes )
A lot of times races are won on what you learn/ do off the track.
