Emma Indoor Raceway has talked to AKRA tech officials and have decided to overturn the Jr 1 MEGA racers that were DQ’d for issues other than the carburetor.
7G, Grayson Redleaf was originally DQ’d because his crankshaft was to light but we discovered that the calibration of our scales have not been certified. He will receive the $1000 for Jr 1 MEGA and picture will be posted with the feature MEGA winners.
As for the post race tech of the #9 Gannon Heimbaugh, the emulsion tube was said to fail. Terry had some concerns about the way it was checked. After a talk with Don Gordner from AKRA, we will be overturning this DQ as well.
Moving forward, we will have Brandon and Terry both certified as AKRA tech officials so that we never have this issue again.
As we did yesterday we have contacted each of those drivers parents and explained that the DQd would be reversed for this issue and Emma Indoor Raceway would make things right.
We are going back and paying whatever position the driver finished. The other driver will get to keep what they were given.
We want to offer our sincere apologies to each one of them.
