2026 Ozarks Area Racers Foundation Hall of Fame Inductees Announced
The Ozarks Area Racers Foundation is proud to celebrate its 38th annual Hall of Fame class on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds E-Plex in Springfield, Missouri.
This year’s inductees represent the best of Ozarks racing, honored in two categories: Legends (recognizing outstanding driving achievements) and Pioneers (celebrating off-track contributors including car owners, mechanics, sponsors, and media professionals).
2026 LEGENDS INDUCTEES
Brian Brown – Lebanon, Missouri
A 30-year racing veteran who competed on both asphalt and dirt tracks across seven states. Brown’s impressive career includes eight track championships and over 100 feature wins at regional speedways, including Lebanon I-44 Speedway and Historic Bolivar Speedway.
Terry Deatherage – Wichita, Kansas
A versatile competitor in multiple premier series including USAC Stock Car Series, ASA, World of Outlaws Late Model Series, and NCRA Racing Series Late Models. Deatherage earned three first-place points championships racing on both paved and dirt ovals.
Eric Turner – Hermitage, Missouri
Over his 30-season career, Turner dominated multiple divisions with more than 200 victories in Open Late Models, Factory Stocks, and Modifieds. A regular competitor at Lucas Oil Speedway among other tracks, Turner recently retired from racing.
Alan Vaughn – Belton, Missouri
An all-time great in MLRA (Midwest Latemodel Racing Association) competition, Vaughn captured the 1985 MLRA championship and remained a consistent contender throughout his distinguished career on the circuit.
2026 PIONEERS INDUCTEES
Russell Baker – Miami, Oklahoma
Founder of Baker Racing Engines, this self-taught machinist began building engines at age 18. His motors powered champions including Bill Frye, Billy Moyer, Wendell Wallace, and Dale McDowell.
Donnie Kratzberg – Fort Smith, Arkansas
Founded Southwest Speed in 1975, which grew into one of the Midwest’s premier suppliers of auto performance parts and racing equipment.
Gene Morton – Springfield, Missouri
A go-kart racer who served the MLRA in various capacities while supporting his son JC Morton’s successful racing career. Gene passed away in early 2025 and is remembered for his dedication to Ozarks racing.
Melanie Wynn – Hartville, Missouri
A dedicated racing photographer for over 15 years, Wynn has documented the action at several Ozarks tracks, preserving countless memories for the racing community.

The Ozark Area Racers Foundation Event is Fast approaching; Drivers still have time to display that new wrap and be a part of this Great Event. Several Cars & Karts from the Dirt/Pavement on display!!! Each Kart on display will get 2 Free tickets to the Event and Kids under 12 are FREE!!!!!!! Discount Tickets on Sale at your local Oreilly’s Auto Parts Stores for Friends/Fans wanting to attend. Karts can be brought to the Event to the Springfield Fairgrounds West E-plex Doors- Saturday January 31st by 10am and be on a Kart stand if all possible. Shoot me a Text or respond in the Comments if you would like to Display your Kart. Doors open at 2pm with the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at 5pm. 📣Attention all Driver’s & Race Teams: January 31st will be the 38th Annual Ozark Racer Foundation Induction Event. It’s time to polish and show off that new body/graphics and even possible obtain interested Sponsorship for the upcoming Season. This Event Inducts/Honors 4 Legends & 4 Pioneers from local Racing into the Hall of Fame. There are hundreds of people who attend to see not only the induction, but see/talk to area Drivers, Track Booths, Memorabilia, Autographs and yes look at all the Race Cars/Karts on Display.
If you would like to Show Off your ride you will get 2 Free Tickets to the Event. This Event is Particularly Special to this Promoter because one of the Pioneers came from Karting and Raced against this Promoter back in the day and 2 College Scholarship Awards being presented to a couple of Driver’s I think you’ll know.

April 4th 2026 is the Ozark Limited Late Model Series season opener at Nevada speedway for the first annual April classic!

2026 Ozark Limited Late Model Series rules and regulations.
.1 body
Bodies on all cars must match national unified late model body rules.
All cars may run a 8″ spoiler.
604, .030 602 must have spoiler mounted at 90 degrees.
.2 Engines
There will be 4 packages allowed in the series in 2026.
Package 1. 602 crate.
602 unaltered crate motors allowed. GM bottle cap, IMCA, USRA, CRUSA, WISSOTA, UMP or POWRi cable seals are legal. Any damage to seals that is deemed intentional by tech official will be Disqualified and motor must be re-sealed before returning to another race. 6400 rpm limit. May run a max 750 4 barrel carb. Race gas and e85 allowed. Must pull 16 inches of vacuum at 1000 RPM.
Package 2. 604 crate
604 unaltered crate motors allowed. GM bottle cap, IMCA, USRA, CRUSA, WISSOTA, UMP or POWRi cable seals are legal. Any damage to seals that is deemed intentional by tech official will be Disqualified and motor must be re-sealed before returning to another race. 6200 rpm limit. May run a max 500 cfm Holley style 2 barrel carb. XP HP carb allowed no aerosol carbs. race gas and e85 allowed.
Package 3. Spec engine
Must follow all POWRi pure stock/mwm standard Engine rules. 6400 rpm limit. May run a max 750 4 barrel carb. Race gas and e85 allowed. Must have vacuum port in carb or intake. Must pull 15 inches of vacuum at 1000 RPM.
Package 4. .030 602 crate.
The POWRI or OLLMS sealed .030 over crate will be allowed to run. 6200 rpm limit. Must run a max 650 4 barrel carb. Race gas and e85 allowed. Must pull 16 inches of vacuum at 1000 RPM.
Must have type of engine on A pillar
May run a HEI or MSD style distributor. No circuit board or Davis technologies style modules.
Rev boxes must be wired per factory instructions.
Cars equipped with Ford engines may lengthen the harness to reach front mounted distributor.
.3 Electrical.
May only have one 12v battery in car.
May only have a 2nd battery if running a DeWalt battery style helmet blower.
No traction control of any kind if caught it’s a indefinite suspension from all OLLMS events.
May run alternator. Must be wired direct to battery.
No memory logging devices other than recall tach.
Digital tach allowed. Must be wired to ignition switch.
GoPro style cameras allowed on suspension components.
MSD digital soft touch or digital 6al boxes allowed must be wired per factory instructions.
Cars must start under their own power.
.4 Shocks/springs
Must run a twin tube non-adjustable shock. No canister/piggyback shocks allowed. No Air shock. 1 shock per corner. no internal or external bump stop allowed. Shock shaft must collapse completely into shock body upon request. Open spring rule. No spring packer/rubber allowed. Afco 14 series shocks are allowed.

For the inaugural season due to old stock that is unable to be used due to current national series rules. The Hoosier D55 WRS-2 and D55 M40 tires will be allowed. Hoosier tires on RF RR and LR will be marked after hot laps and may not be changed unless damaged until conclusion of event.
Any tire that punches 50 or lower on tech official durometer after a heat or feature will result in a DQ.
Open LF tire.
May groove, grind and sipe.
.6 Droop rule.
All cars will be jacked up by frame with driver in seat til limiter chain is tight and tire leaves ground enough for a shim to slide under LR tire. Must be 50 inches from ground to deck with one inch tolerance. 51 1/16 of an inch is immediate DQ.
.7 Weight.
602, spec engine cars.

604, .030 602 crate.

May add weight. Must be painted white or florescent orange with car number. No added weight to rear end housing. No lead shot. Tungsten or lead blocks only.
.8 Brakes.
May have RF shut off.
Must engage brakes on first pump of pedal.
Front to back adjustment only.
.9 Transmission.
Must have one forward and one reverse gear operational at all times.
.10 Claims.
Shocks may be claimed for $300 per shock or whole set for $1000 or $150 per shock exchange or $500 for whole set with exchange. 5th arm shock not included in claims.
Carbs may be claimed for $750 outright.
Drivers who start the A main may claim any of the drivers who made tech that night. You must be a member to make a claim. you are allowed 2 claims a year. Refusal of claim is loss of points and money for the night.
.11 format
All races will be old school open draw heads up in the heat races no re-draw for feature. Goal is to start 20 cars in the feature. All drivers who buy a membership get 1 emergency provisional for the year. 1 points provisional will be awarded to the highest points driver who didn’t qualify into the a main. Must complete all laps of b main to be eligible for points provisional.
.12 Membership.
Membership is $100 per racer.
Must be member to be eligible for points, contingency awards, emergency provisional, points provisionals. And claim privilege.
Series officials have all final say over on track, tech, and pit side conduct. Tech officials tools are the tools that will be used to determine legality of car. What the car weighed at home, what your tape measure reads, what your vacuum gauge reads, what your durometer punches, does not matter. Tech has final call. If needed clarifications will be made through the year.
$25 entry fee for all races

We are getting ready to the Birthday weekend off by heading North to Lake Ozark Speedway for 2 Nights of Action Packed Sprint Car Racing with the OCRS Sprint Cars. Should be a Great Night of Racing and make sure while you’re there to get your 50/50 Tickets from the Unforgotten Heroes Foundation. We couldn’t hit the road as much as we do without there support along with Show-Me Dirt and Walker Jellies.
